A step that is frequently skipped during a repair or installation is flowing nitrogen gas through the copper lines while brazing to prevent formation of oxidized copper flakes which will contaminate the refrigerant.
When that occurs, it can clog and corrode crucial finely tuned system components which can shorten the lifespan of both the repair and system as whole system.
This is especially true of today’s high efficiency systems which are more sensitive to a poor installation.
